VKY is Hiring a Graduate Apprentice Automation Developer

VKY is hiring a Graduate Apprentice Automation Developer due to strong demand for our services.

Is It For You?

Are you a problem solver who wants to use technology to improve the world around you? Do you want to earn a degree in Software Development whilst building your experience and getting paid? Do you have a solid grasp of numbers and the ability to communicate complex information clearly? If you've answered yes to each of those questions, this could be for you!

The Role

You will spend 2.5-3 days per week working with one of our clients to the West of Glasgow, 1 day per week studying for your degree at University of Strathclyde, and the final 1-1.5 days per week training, working on innovation and research projects or supporting VKY's other clients. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, you will initially work remotely, moving to some on-site work with clients when it is safe and appropriate to do so, combined with continuing remote working.

You will work on the delivery of automation projects using a number of different tools/methods including: Robotic Process Automation/RPA (e.g. UiPath which is a platform based on .net), chatbot creation, APIs, software and data integration, ML, infrastructure set up, Azure, AWS, python and more.

Minimum Requirements

As a minimum to be considered for this role, you must have at least 4 Bs at Higher level or equivalent with at least one of Computer Science, Maths or Physics included. If you haven't studied a computing subject, you must be able to demonstrate a strong interest in programming/software development, perhaps through time spent at a coding club. HNC/HND qualifications or equivalents will be considered.

You must be eligible to work in the UK and eligible for a Graduate Apprenticeship at a Scottish University.  More information on Graduate Apprenticeships is available at www.apprenticeships.scot

As long as you meet with requirements above, we will happily consider people who would like to return to University as a mature student and those who would like to change career (including veterans).

Training, Development and Mentoring

In addition to your degree, you will have opportunities for training and certifications (e.g. UiPath, Microsoft, etc). You will receive mentoring from a highly experienced developer with ongoing support for your development.

The Package

The degree is fully funded and you will earn a salary of £15,500-16,500 for a 30hr week and generous holiday allowance.  Whilst your friends will leave University with £35k student debt and no experience, you could complete your degree with zero debt, an income, 3-4 years of experience and a pension pot already worth £5k.

To Apply

Please send a copy of your CV and an email introducing yourself to glasgow@vkyautomation.com.  Please include “Graduate Apprentice” in the Subject field.

The closing date is 1st September 2020.
